6 Fictional Flags of Celebrities!

Other

When choosing a flag, countries don’t just pick random colours and symbols. A lot of thought goes in to making sure that flags represent the area they are for. But I thought, why should flags just be for areas? So I decided to create a few fictional flags of some celebrities!

Please note, these are all unofficial and are my own designs!

1. Ed Sheeran

Fictional Flag of Ed Sheeran

The flag I came up with for Ed Sheeran is a 3 band tricolour of orange, green and blue. Ed is a British singer songwriter, known for his hit songs such as ‘Shape of You’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Galway Girl’. The colours represent Ed’s 3 insanely popular albums; x, + and ÷. The bands are in chronological order of the albums releases. But, coincidentally, the orange band on top could also represent Ed’s ginger hair!

2. Kanye West

Fictional Flag of Kanye West

Kanye West is a muliti-award-winning musician, producer and entrepreneur.  He is also incredibly active in the media, and has over 28 million Twitter followers!

For Kayne’s flag, I took a similar approach to Ed’s. The 9 stars represent each one of the studio albums Kanye has created.

The red field represents the state flag of Georgia, his birthplace. I picked the colour that exactly matched this flag. The stars as a symbol on this flag are also a nod to the fact Kanye’s life revolves around the United States. In fact, he has even stated that one day he wishes to run for President of the country!

3. Ninja (Streamer)

Fictional Flag of Ninja (Streamer)

Ninja is a Twitch streamer and Youtuber, most known for his Fornite content. He is so popular that his YouTube channel is currently the 69th most subscribed to channel on the entire site!

Ninja was born in Detroit, but moved to Chicago when he was only a baby. Note, I don’t personally know Ninja, but would imagine that he identifies his youth to Chicago, rather than Detroit. This is why there are two blue bands on the flag, they come from the city flag of Chicago.

The llama in the centre of the flag represent what Ninja is currently most known for – Fornite. I personally think he will outlive Fortnite’s popularity and people will still watch him. This could make this symbol slightly outdated in the future, but as of now this is a homage to Fortnite and Ninja’s immense popularity that has come from it!

4. Taylor Swift

Fictional Flag of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is an American singer-songwriter, with hits such as ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.

The flag I created for Taylor Swift is packed with meaningful symbolism! The yellow bar on the left is a reference to the Nashville flag.  Taylor’s career was kickstarted in the Nashville country scene, before she was propelled to mainstream pop fame!

The red and white strips are a nod to the 6 albums Taylor has created. They also link to her American roots, as they are the same colour as the stipes on the USA flag.

Taylor is one of the best-selling female artists of all time, with more than 40 million album sales. This is reflected on her flag by the white stars, with each representing 10 million album sales.

5. Twenty One Pilots

Fictional Flag of 21 Pilots

Twenty One Pilots are an American band, best known for their massively popular songs ‘Stressed Out’ and ‘Heathens’.

For TØP, I decided on a flag that is a half and half split of red and blue. The two colours are there to represent the members, Josh Dun & Tyler Joseph. The white triangle that appears at the top of the flag is a reference to the band’s home state of Ohio. The state flag of Ohio has a cutout on it that makes it especially unique, which is also what Twenty One Pilots try to achieve in their music!

Twenty One Pilots are well known for having a fantastically large and devoted fan-base that does amazing things. The white star at the bottom is dedicated to their fans.

6. Jodie Whittaker

Fictional Flag of Jodie Whittaker

Jodie Whittaker is a British actress. Previously, she was known for her work on the show ‘Broadchurch’. However recently, she has skyrocketed in fame after being cast as The Doctor in the famous BBC show, Doctor Who. The first full episode featuring her in the legendary role is yet to air, but we have seen glimpses of her costume! In trailers, we can see Jodie in a navy t-shirt with colourful stripes. So, to create her flag, I simply recreated the t-shirt in flag form! And it works really well in this medium; a really cool, quirky design for what I am sure will be a Doctor with similar characteristics!
